Schools & Church Communities
As well as our orphanage work, our trips include visits to both public and private schools in East Africa. With the publicly funded schooling system in East Africa being so overcrowded, we do our best to bless schools in whatever way we can.
At secondary school level this can be very difficult to do for a small group given the sheer size of most private secondary schools. That’s why we mainly focus on primary schools where the number of children allows us to be a greater benefit to the school and the children.
At the private schools we often run activity days with prizes such as football shirts and toys encouraging the children usually to get involved in sport. At the smaller poorer primary schools we often give a financial gift or bring practical help in the form of books, pencils, pens and other useful items for schools in East Africa.
We also get involved where possible with churches who are active in their surrounding community. Without a welfare system, the church is a source of help in desperate times and often the local church or Pastor knows who needs help the most. In the past we’ve given goats to orphanages on the back of recommendations from trusted churches and pastors!
Each of our trips can be tailored to suit the respective group and we can ensure that each group spends the most time helping with their heart is!
